Practice Proper Teeth Brushing

Posted .

Do you visit the dentist regularly, as well as brush and floss on a daily basis and eat a tooth-friendly diet? Are you curious about additional methods you can try to protect your smile? We are happy to suggest tips and practices to help you to have the best dental health possible. To help you care for your smile, we list three tips to consider while brushing your teeth each day:

1. When brushing your smile, you may be in the habit of starting with the same tooth each time, but this could lead to a lax technique and cause some teeth to not receive the attention they deserve. To ensure each tooth receives equal care, we recommend that you start with a different tooth each time you brush.

2. What you eat before brushing your teeth is important. If you have recently eaten something acidic, you should wait at least 30 minutes before brushing your teeth because the acids can temporarily soften your tooth enamel and result in tooth damage if you brush too soon.

3. Choosing the right toothbrush can determine the quality of your oral health. We encourage you to select a soft-bristled toothbrush with a small brush head. After brushing your teeth, rinse the toothbrush before storing it in an upright position. Every two or three months, you should replace your toothbrush.
