Are You Looking out for Your Oral Health?

Maintaining your healthy smile is vital for your oral health, and is the foundation to a confident smile as well. Since you are in the tooth cleaning trenches every day, your diligence can make a big difference to your smile health. Today,  Dr. John McMurray and Dr. Brad Williams are happy to share some oral health tips with you in Meridian, Idaho.

First, you will want to brush your teeth at least two times a day, for about two minutes each tooth brushing session. We recommend using a toothbrush with soft bristles to protect the gums and using toothpaste with fluoride to protect tooth enamel. Be sure to thoroughly clean each tooth’s front, back, and top surfaces, especially the molars in the back.

Next, don’t forget to floss your pearly whites at least once a day. A good time to do this before you go to bed. Floss gently along the gumline to remove as much plaque between the teeth as you can. After flossing, you can rinse with mouthwash as needed to lower bacteria in the mouth.

To supplement your daily oral care, please maintain your regular professional dental cleanings every six months. We use special treatments that completely remove the bacteria from your teeth and hardened tartar. Our goal is to help you avoid the hazards of cavities and periodontal disease.
